    Touche. After reading into it more the quote itself has to do with men being fit to benefit their society. Which makes me like it more. War being the main reason to be and stay fit. Amateur in this context pertains to the summary below. You must train for a purpose, to be useful, not just for the sake of training. I have no doubts that a more appropriate word could have been used.

    For me it’s one main thing that leads to two other sub goals. One, to help others get strong by setting the example and gaining the wisdom and knowledge to instruct them (that could be virtually or in person and I prefer in person), no matter their age or starting point. The personal benefits that branch off of that is to see what I am capable of and to age well.

    Healthy is self evident and people naturally gravitate towards it, when around it, knowing it is right.

    Aging well - a beautiful concept. How many grandparents would make a positive impression on youth if only they followed this ideal.
